Which states does a demand request pass through?

A Demand Request is associated with a SPSCommonClassBase attribute within Matrix42. This attribute, "State", determines its current position within the overall process.

  1. Idea: The initial state of a Demand Request. The Demand Requestor is currently adding information and has not yet transferred it to the Group IT.

  2. Withdrawn: This is a terminal state of a Demand Request. When the Demand Requestor uses the "Withdraw Demand" action, the request is closed as it no longer has relevance.

  3. Assessment Pending: The first state in which a work order for the Group IT exists.
    1. At this point, the Demand Requestor can no longer update the Demand Request.

    2. Demand Management is informed about the submitted request via a newly opened Service Request within Matrix42. The responsible Demand Manager then accepts the demand.

  4. Assessment In Progress: In this state, Demand Management must determine if a valid Demand Request has been formulated or if it is an irrelevant query (e.g., "I want blue socks for my pet"). Depending on the assessment, the information acquisition is either completed, or the demand is declined.

  5. No Demand: This is a terminal state that results from the assessment concluding that the query was irrelevant.

  6. Assessment Completed: The information acquisition has been completed, and the Demand Management creates the first evaluation tasks for the Demand Processors.

  7. Evaluation Pending: The expert teams (e.g., Data Privacy) encounter the Demand Request for the first time. They are responsible for closing their respective tasks by providing a rating of the Demand Request.

  8. Decision Pending: All queried expert teams have provided their ratings. Demand Management must now decide whether to approve or decline the Demand Request. Alternatively, further expert evaluations can be requested.

  9. Rejected: This is a terminal state of a Demand Request where Demand Management decides to reject the request.

  10. Approved: In this state, Demand Management decides whether the Demand Request will be fulfilled through a Change or a Project.
